From my point of view, not only my reading habits have changed throughout my life but also everyone’s habits.
Nowadays,
less people are reading in a library, they download book and those are read by
electronic gadgets such as e-book, mobile phones, tablets….
By and
large, people enjoy reading. No matter where they are, it could be in a
library, on a bench in the park, near the river, on the beach, under a tree’s
shadow, in the underground, etc. The important part is people read everyday
even though it is the newspaper or news from social media.
Regarding
to pictures, there are many differences among them, most of them show what people
enjoy to do is read a book. Yet, there are one of them in a school with
children imply that illustrates how bored children are reading at once the same
book. As far as I am concerned, as a teacher, I bear in mind the necessity of
offering different kinds of books to children in a classroom and giving them the
chance of choosing what to read by themselves in order not to bore them. If
they were allowed to choose their own books, they would enjoy it more.
Apart from the
children, people feel relaxed when they read because they look enjoy reading they
even forget what else is around them.
Otherwise, as
it was aforementioned, most people in pictures are enjoying their readings but
I would like focus on the third and fifth pictures. The third one illustrates
an old lady reading in a electronic device which means people who enjoy reading
will adapt to new times and will use digital devices in order to keep reading.
The fifth picture shows a man who left all his stuffs from work in order to catch
up on news, he is reading and he doesn’t realise what is happening around him,
that means he focus on his reading.
Personally
speaking, I am a reader like the man in the fifth picture because the more I
read, the more concentrated I am. It happens to me in both, first and foreign
language, especially when something catches your attention. To be honest, I
have been reading comprehension difficulties my whole life, that means I have
to focus on readings in order to understand them. I enjoy reading at nights,
when I’m waiting a bus to come, when I’m in a plane…
Regarding
to theme, I like everything, in English I usually read teenagers books because
they are easier to follow the plot by me. Furthermore, I read news in both
English and Spanish to be up-to-date and I prefer reading in paper format but
nowadays I’m reading more in an e-book because you can have different books in
it and it can be brought wherever you want without taking up too much space in
your bag.
